Folio. Engraved frontispiece and nine copper-plates. [1144] pp., unpaginated.

Full early contemporary or slightly later red morocco. Gilt spine with raised bands, elaborately tooled with cross devices in the centers of five compartments. Covers with double gilt-ruled borders and cross device in four corners, with larger cross device in center. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers. A fine copy in quarter calf clamshell slipcase. There is an ink notation on the back free endpapers states that this Bible was last used at Claydon Church in 1902.

The second edition of Baskerville’s masterpiece, following the 1763 first edition.
