“Second Baskerville edition, second impression with the price of 8s. 6d. on the title page, and the impression with the star and lozenge page borders; 8vo, 272 leaves; contemporary full red morocco with elaborate gilt borders on covers, gilt-decorated spine in 6 compartments.
“Baskerville printed three octavo editions of The Book of Common Prayer. The first, which appeared in 1760, was set in long lines of Great Primer. There were two impressions, one with and the other without a border round each page… cancelled title pages were substituted later in 1760 and in 1761…
The second edition appeared later in 1760 and two impressions were printed, with and without borders.
