Description
The Bible Museum was founded to tell one story—the history of the Bible. Incredible sacrifices (more on that later) made by courageous men and women cannot be overlooked. This special is designed to reveal the decade (1547 to 1557) of extreme sacrifices made by many so that we could read the Bible at home without fear of persecution or worse.
Henry VIII died in 1547. Edward VI took the throne at the age of nine that same year. He was the first monarch to begin his reign as a Protestant. At the age of 15, he passed away, and his half-sister Bloody Mary took the throne. We didn’t give her the name “Bloody Mary” because she was fond of vodka, tomato juice, and a splash of Tabasco sauce. She was given this title because she positioned herself and her kingdom back to papal authority.
Many lives were taken by fire, drowning, and other tactics unimaginable to a decent human being’s mind just for challenging papal authority.
The incredible sacrifice referenced earlier is detailed in the best selling book, “The Forbidden Book”. We are giving this book to you for free when you purchase today’s special. So what is today’s special?
1. The 1560 Geneva Bible. The Geneva Bible is the version quoted hundreds of times by William Shakespeare in his plays. Also called the “Breeches Bible,” the Geneva Bible is the only Bible ever able to outsell and exceed the popularity of the King James Bible, as it did in the early 1600s until its printing ceased in 1644. One of the greatest ironies of history is that Protestants of all denominations today embrace the King James Version of the Bible (which reads 90% the same as the Geneva), even though the King James Version is not a Protestant Bible (it’s Anglican / Church of England).
2. 1549 Tyndale leaf printed during the reign of Edward the VI. A leaf from the earliest available printing of “Tyndale’s Bible.” William Tyndale was the first to translate the scriptures directly into English from the original Biblical Hebrew and Greek. This 1549 reprinting by John Rogers (aka “Thomas Matthew”) of the 1537 edition is over 470 years old. These large folio-sized leaves, printed on 100% rag cotton paper, measure approximately 12″ tall by 7.5″ inches wide, and each leaf is a unique piece of ancient artwork, carefully produced one-at-a-time, using a movable-type press. Each comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. ($195 value).
3. 1551 Erasmus-Stephanus Latin/Greek leaf. This critically important edition showed in easily comparable parallel columns, the flaws and corruption of the Roman Catholic church’s ancient Latin Vulgate, when considered in light of the original Biblical Greek right next to it… and for those educated to read Latin but not Greek, Erasmus provided a more accurate rendering of the scripture in Latin right next to that, so that they too could appreciate the difference, and read an accurate version of God’s Word. ($195 value).
4. Free! The Forbidden Book. The story of the protestant movement and the history of the Bible. Over 500,000 copies sold and counting. “The Forbidden Book” Leaf-Book is for those who want an understanding of how we got the English Bible. It also contains a set of 2 leaves that come from the Geneva and King James Bible.
This entire special valued at $630 if purchased separately is being offered to you today for just $249. If you already have the Geneva Bible and just want the leaves and The Forbidden Book then you may acquire that for just $195.
